I spent some time researching all types of massage chairs and capabilities: 2D vs 3D vs 4D?!. I scoured FB marketplace, Craigslist, & Amazon looking for the right combination. If the price was right, it was an older model and it was 2D. Or super expensive, 4D, with a bunch of features that didn't seem necessary. Ultimately, I settled on this Goldilocks not quite sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised.
I don't typically get massages because they are too 'expensive.' My partner likes going. Guess who ends up paying most of the time? In my mind, buying this would relieve me of paying for the massages (ongoing) vs. a 1-time shot that would get me to have more massages. In 1 month, the chair has been half-paid off if I calculated the times that everyone's used it. Me, my partner, my partner's two teens, and my partner's ex. In fact, the primary reason (IMO) the ex & the kids come over now is so they can use the chair. Our two cats even use them. One sleeps in it at night. The other somehow occasionally turns it on, because I came out one night to see the soft blue light and gentle music playing from the chair.
In any event, no complaints about the chair's capabilities. There is a 'secret' menu of Auto options listed in the manual. I thought there were only 5 because those were the ones on the keypad. It turns out there are 15, and the one that I needed the most (#5 - Neck & Shoulders) wasn't cutting it - it wasn't strong enough even though I increased the strength to max. However, #14 did the trick. Also, partner & ex complained about the music abruptly turning off when massage was over, no gentle decrease in volume, etc. I just use the bluetooth when I need music, which works very well by the way. Otherwise, I prefer my massages in silence.
Overall an excellent massage chair & punches above its weight in its price range.
